Cuteness...brought to you by Emma

This was from an e-mail Emma's teacher sent me this morning:
You win best mom award: Yesterday Emma was beside herself with joy over the fact that she had pancakes in her lunch -- and RAISINS TO MAKE SMILEY FACES!!!

My reply:
That is so funny about Emma! I wasn't even thinking that she could make smiley faces with the raisins. I just wanted her to have something healthy. Maybe it was my subconscious inner child. haha Kids are so creative.

A Conversation with Emma about American Sign Language:

Emma: Mommy, how do you make the sign for Mommy?
Me: It's the same as Daddy, but you put it on your chin.
Emma: Oh, is that because Mommies are shorter than Daddies?

Learning Scripture through Repitition

We decided that the best way to teach our children scripture stories would be to pick a story each week and read different versions of it to the children every day. Then we'd ask them to tell the story to us at the end of the week to see what they'd learned. This week was the story of Jonah.

    Please Watch This

A good friend sent this to me and I sat sobbing at the computer. My husband will miss most of our baby's first year of life, and I'm praying for nothing worse. A 15-yr-old girl made this. That's Natalie's age, Chad.

    My First Altered Book

This was created out of the love I have for my husband. Working on it completely renewed my love for him, as I had to think about the way I feel about him with every embellishment. It was a treasure to make and give and a treasure for him to receive.

    Ode to My Husband

For my husband on our anniversary:
composed in a moment of silliness

Thank you for being my husband and friend.
You are the best even with your nonexistent rear end.
I know that your love is everlasting and true.
And I've accepted that about romance, you don't have a clue.
I'll love you forever; remember the place where we kneeled?
The people there told me I have to -- we're sealed.
So perk up those large ears I adore
And listen..."I love you! The best years of my life have been these last four.
